Since the creation of Storex we have abstained from releasing roadmaps and timeframes for a number of reasons. Instead, we adopted an ad hoc approach which has allowed us to adapt to an ever-changing industry. You can read our achievements last year in this article.
Storex has now reached a level of maturity where we are comfortable releasing a roadmap outlining our planned features pre-and-post launch in 2024. Currently, the marketplace is in the final stages of beta testing with one last milestone before public release.
Arbitration Update
This final stage of the beta adds the ability for testers to dispute transactions and leave reviews for sellers. Verified users will be able to join the Arbitration Panel and vote on resolutions for each dispute. The resolution will determine how funds are refunded to each party. Arbitrators earn a share of the processing fee in exchange for their services.
API Update
Before the public release of the marketplace the backend API infrastructure will be upgraded to prepare for scalability. The hardware has already been ordered and is in the process of being setup. This allows for faster API response times, increased traffic load, and helps mitigate desynchronisation states between the blockchain and the marketplace.
Public Release
In this milestone the marketplace leaves the beta testing stage and officially launches to the public. Any user will be able to buy and sell goods or services for a variety of cryptocurrencies. The official Storex storefront will have a range of electronics and computer components for sale. The STRX token also gains real-world utility for the first time as it is used as a payment method. Users will also be able to earn STRX cashback from purchases and pay for the promotion of listings with STRX.
Ethereum and Binance Chain Bridge
A bridge on Ethereum and Binance Chain will be created which allows the use of STRX on each respective chain. By using Fireblocks the custodied assets will be securely stored and backed 1:1 while bridged. This opens the project to an entirely new market of users on Ethereum and Binance Chain. The use of liquidity pools on each respective chain will make it easier for new users to trade and use STRX. Combined with our Web2 login system, onboarding new users will become considerably easier.
EVM Wallet Update
This update will add compatibility for the two largest EVM wallets: MetaMask and Trust Wallet (with more being integrated later). Users will be able to connect MetaMask or Trust Wallet to Storex and sign for transactions on Storex (which is deployed on XPR Network).
This is not an exhaustive roadmap and more features will be developed and refined as needed. Our efforts will be centred around delivering this roadmap in 2024. We look forward to what this year has in store for the project and the wider ecosystem.
